How To Renew Your Old Couch Cover
|
|
Do you have an old, worn couch that you just can’t bare to part with? Do you become despondent over those tenacious stains plaguing your couch? If so, a couch cover may just be the answer. Couch covers come in a multitude of sizes, styles and colors, and can be easily incorporated to your current décor.
Although used to cover a couch, but there are many different situations that warrant using a couch cover. If you have a solidly constructed couch that has been with you for many years, but the decades old stains are an eyesore, a couch cover can be utilized to cover the unsightly stains while you continue to relax on your favorite couch.
It is also a wise investment for use with recently purchased, brand new couches. A well made couch cover will add years of life to the fabric of the couch, and will prevent it from becoming stained and worn. A couch cover is especially useful if children and pets are frequent visitors to the couch.
In times past, the mere mention of one of these items brought to mind images of those clear plastic coverings that were wrapped around high-dollar couches all across America. They made noise when you sat on them, and in the summer months just looking at them made you break out in a sweat. Those days are long gone, and there exists a new, exciting world of couch covers to be explored.
Modern versions can be purchased pre-made to fit loveseats or regular size couches, or can be custom made per your specifications. It is easy to determine what size you will need by figuring out the length, height and width of the couch to be covered. Most pre-made couch covers come in a variety of sizes, and utilize elastic to ensure a tight fit over the existing couch material.
If cost is not an issue, a custom made one may be a good choice. By being able to choose the type and style of fabric, as well as the color scheme, you will be able to have a couch cover fashioned to coordinate with your current décor, or maybe match the color of your drapes. With a custom made couch cover you also have the option of having the cover treated with stain repellant chemicals that will allow for fast and easy clean-ups of any spillage mishaps.
You don’t need a particular reason to buy one; maybe you are just tired of staring at that boring brown couch. A couch cover doesn’t only add life to the upholstery of the couch, but it can add some zest and liven up a drab, colorless room.
